Kenichiro Hara 原 健一郎
Kenichiro ("Ken") brings a combination of consulting, business development, product management and branding/marketing experiences to DCM. Based on his experience in e-commerce in China and wealth management services in UK/Japan, at DCM, Ken focuses on consumer facing or SME focused Internet and mobile service disrupting large industries, such as Fintech, B2C/C2C marketplace and the sharing economy.
Prior to joining DCM, Ken worked for Orbis Investment to develop its online retail arm, Orbis Access, for UK/Japan, where he was responsible for overall project management, business development and branding/marketing for its Japan business. Previously, Ken worked for McKinsey in Japan and Vietnam for clients in the financial consumer products/retail and PE industries. He also built an e-commerce start-up in China that designs, produces, and sells Japanese fashion to Chinese customers.
He is an avid music fan and loves spending his time seeing live music, is an enthusiastic foodie especially for Japanese curry, and is a lifetime student of home brewing. He is also a hardcore Yakult Swallows (Japanese New York Mets) fan, and is checking any kind of information and stats about the team every day.
