Jiarui is interested in how the interaction between technology and culture creates opportunities for entrepreneurs. At DCM, he focuses on investments in consumer, digital media, and internet-enabled services. Jiarui believes that generational companies are built on changing people's behaviors and enjoys helping founders turn their insights on how to do so into successful businesses.

Before joining DCM, Jiarui was part of the business operations and strategy team at Cameo, where he drove demand generation and international expansion. In addition to his day job, Jiarui has been an On Deck fellow, consumer VC scout, and startup advisor. Jiarui started his career as a management consultant at L.E.K. Consulting's TMT practice.

An East Coast transplant, Jiarui fell in love with San Francisco while interning at a startup during college. He has yet to grow tired of the diverse foods and stunning natural beauty of the Bay. On weekends, Jiarui will either be hosting small get-togethers or continuing an unfortunate hiking tradition of getting lost in the Marin Headlands.
